As we’re coming up on our January event I wanted to give a shout out to one of our attendees who has been doing a lot of impactful work on our behalf recently. The other month we opened a new qualification route for our highlighted streamers. Through this new qualification route, any streamer regardless of follower count or stream schedule could become a highlighted streamer by raising at least $250 for our beneficiary before the event. We weren’t sure it was going to work, asking somebody to put in a bunch of effort with no guarantee they’ll get anything out of it. Then Tim entered the chat.
Tim understood the assignment, he just wants to make the world a better place and he likes the way we’re doing it. I had a good feeling about him but I am just floored by the impact he’s made already. After his first few charity streams he’s already raised $801 towards our Camp Good Days campaign (now up to $1,051, I can’t keep up). Asking people for donations can be very disheartening when it doesn’t work out. It’s no small effort on his part to have come this far. To have this kind of help is a huge weight off my chest and I want to extend my deepest gratitude to Tim and his viewers for their contributions and making the debut of this new streamer qualification so successful. I look forward to working with Tim more in the future as we improve our fundraising strategies and hope I can write many more posts like these celebrating wins for our attendees and our community.
