FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re new to our event, or think you might have a question someone else has asked before, check here on our FAQ page. We’ll try to leave out event-specific information from this page. That will probably be on our event info page:

How do I get there?

Here’s a Google Maps link. Go there, and then it should be pretty obvious.

What do I need to bring?

  • Computer/console
  • Monitor
  • Power and Monitor cables
  • Headphones
  • Keyboard
  • Mouse
  • Any other gaming peripherals (cables for your wireless mouse/headphones)
  • Sleeping gear
  • Phone charger?

What should I NOT bring?

  • Ethernet cords (we have plenty)
  • Network switches (We have our own, and plenty of ports)
  • Power strips (Ours will be ready and waiting for you)
  • Speakers
  • Anything that’s against our rules

What about a chair?

You have 3 options:

  1. Bring your own
  2. Rent a comfy one from us (limited availability – you can rent one in advance when you buy your ticket)
  3. Take one from us (free, but not a very good experience)

How does seat selection work?

One evening in the days before the doors open, we do a live stream in our Discord and arrange all the groups (which we call Guilds) into sections. It is then up to each group to select the seats from their assigned area(s). This is the best way to ensure you get seats next to the people you’re looking for. Be sure to join our Discord to catch the date on when we create the seating arrangements.

If you are looking to form or join a group (Guild), click here. Make sure to organize yourself and your buddies into the Guild before we create the seating chart!

Do you have showers during the event?

In short, during the summer: Yes. During the winter: No. The showers are external buildings that get closed and winterized by the fairgrounds. That makes them only available in the summer.

So I sleep AT the event?

You can if you want! We have a designated sleep area. You’re welcome to bring your air mattresses, cots, even tents and grab a place to crash. There are also a number of Hotels nearby if you need your own space.

Some attendees choose to sleep at their table rather than in the designated sleeping area. That’s totally fine, too. Just remember to keep the walkways clear for others to get through.

What about food?

There’s more information on our event info page. But to summarize: you can bring your own food/ (non-alcoholic) drinks but cannot have it delivered to the event. There is a concession stand open for lunch/dinner on Friday and Saturday, and open for Breakfast on Sunday. Prices are reasonable.

How good is the Internet?
