The MassiveLAN Cup

Introduction:

Welcome to The MassiveLAN Cup, also known as The Guild Cup—the ultimate competition that pits MassiveLAN guilds against each other in a friendly battle of pride, skill, and camaraderie. Originally created to ensure that guild members could sit together during events, the guilds have since evolved into a way for attendees to represent their communities and showcase their competitive spirit.

The MassiveLAN Cup celebrates the passion and energy of our community, giving guilds the opportunity to compete throughout the year for points and ultimate bragging rights. Whether you're participating in tournaments, mini-games, or simply showing pride in your guild's spirit and conduct, every action counts toward winning the prestigious title of Most Valuable Guild of the year.

How the Competition Works:

  • Guild Representation: At MassiveLAN, guilds are at the heart of the experience. The MassiveLAN Cup rewards guilds for their involvement in various activities across both the winter and summer events. Guilds gain points by participating in tournaments, showing great conduct, engaging in mini-games, and more. This competition isn’t just about performance on the tournament stage; it's about how you show up and support your guild throughout the year.

  • Point System: Points are awarded in various ways:

    • Tournament Wins – Winning in competitive events earns your guild points.
    • Event Participation – The more active your guild is in MassiveLAN events, the more points you rack up.
    • Mini-Games – Fun, lighthearted mini-games provide additional ways for your guild to gain points.
    • Guild Conduct – The positive behavior of your guild members contributes to your points tally.
    • More – Additional activities throughout the year may grant points.
  • Point Tallying: Points from both the winter and summer events are tallied throughout the year. At the end of the summer event, the guild with the most points is crowned the Guild of the Year.

2025 Changes: Guilds Become Teams:

Starting in 2025, guilds will be split into two teamsOrange and Blue—to ensure that even smaller guilds can contribute and compete for the win. This change is designed to make the competition more dynamic and inclusive, with every guild having a chance to be a part of the winning team. No matter your guild's size or experience, you'll be a crucial player on your team.

  • Orange Team vs. Blue Team: Guilds will be organized into two teams: Orange and Blue. Points will be accumulated by the guilds throughout the year, but they’ll contribute to their respective team’s total.

  • Most Valuable Guild: At the end of the year, the guild with the most points on the winning side (either Orange or Blue) will be crowned Most Valuable Guild (MVG). This guild will be celebrated for its dedication, spirit, and teamwork throughout the year.

Why Participate?

  • Pride: Represent your guild with pride! The MassiveLAN Cup allows your guild to demonstrate what it's made of, earning recognition within the MassiveLAN community.
  • Fun & Friendly Competition: This competition isn’t just about winning—it’s about having fun with friends and fellow gamers while showing off your skills.
  • Yearlong Engagement: Keep the spirit alive all year round with opportunities to earn points and be a part of something exciting.
  • Teamwork: Whether you're in a big guild or a smaller one, your guild’s unity and participation make all the difference.
